Best Buy appoints Kevin Styles to UK marketing role

LONDON - American electronics giant Best Buy has appointed ex-Kingfisher managing director, Kevin Styles, as its UK marketing director.

Styles role will involve the positioning of the Global brand in the UK. He will report to former Tesco director Scott Wheway, who was promoted to head of Best Buy Europe last week.

The retailer is moving planning to move in to the UK market, taking on brands such as PC World, Currys and Dixons. It had so far signed its first two store leases at Hedge End in Southampton and in Thurrock. Another five sites are planned.

The company is a major stakeholder in Carphone Warehouse. As part of a tie up with the mobile phone retailer, the brand has signed up to CheapTweet, a new service that alerts customers to discounted deals.
