Beeny's return nets 2.2 million for Channel 4

The new series of 'Help! My House Is Falling Down', featuring Channel 4 property guru Sarah Beeny, attracted 2.2 million viewers last night, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The six-part reimagining of the property genre for recessionary times started with a 9.7% share for the broadcaster in the 8pm-9pm slot. Its audience, including Channel 4+1, came in at 2.5 million.

It was beaten by ITV1's 8pm-9pm offering, 'New Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', which managed 3.61 million viewers and a 16.1% share.

ITV1 pulled in 3.04 million the following hour with 'The Bill: Death Knock', taking a 13.3% share and registering the second-best performance in the slot.

The best ratings were for 'The Deep', the BBC's five-part submarine drama starring Minnie Driver and James Nesbitt.

It was watched by 4.83 million, down from 5.3 million on its debut.

Channel 4 documentary 'Who Knows Best? Getting a Job' brought in 1.35 million, or 1.48 million including Channel 4+1 ratings.

'CSI: Miami' beat that for Five, with an audience of 1.92 million.
