Beadle biography gives ITV1 2.4 million viewers

ITV1's biography of Jeremy Beadle delivered a slim 2.39 million viewers last night while viewers flocked to BBC One's new countryside series 'Secret Britain', according to unofficial overnight figures.

'The Unforgettable Jeremy Beadle' earned ITV1 a 9.9% share of viewing at 9-10pm, just ahead of 'Big Brother's 9% share for Channel 4 and level with new BBC Two comedy 'Vexed'.

BBC One's 'Secret Britain' was way out in front with 5.99 million viewers, taking a 24.9% share of viewing.

The series is an appreciated of little-seen parts of Britain such as its only desert and will continue for another three programmes.

'Big Brother' was watched by 2.18 million viewers on Channel 4 and by 2.49 million viewers including Channel 4+1 ratings.

'Vexed' was watched by 2.39 million, including 138,000 viewers at the same time on BBC HD.

Five ran action film 'War' from 9pm to 11.05pm and got an average audience of 1.71 million viewers, an 8.2% share.
