Beckham, J-Lo and Beyonce cross swords in martial arts epic for Pepsi

LONDON – Pepsi's latest star-studded commercial features David Beckham, Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Lopez battling gangsters in Hong Kong's underworld.

The multimillion-pound spot, which was made by BBDO New York and will break next week, shows the trio fighting gangsters in a run-down bar.

The ad is directed by Tarsem Singh, director of 2000 movie 'The Cell', which also starred Jennifer Lopez. He also directed the video for REM's 'Losing My Religion'.

Salman Amin, chief marketing officer of PepsiCo International, said: "We at Pepsi have always committed ourselves to bringing consumers the best that there is to offer from the worlds of football and music.

"This time we have brought the two worlds together in a combination that we believed would create a fantastic piece of activity."

The England captain, who has previously appeared as a gladiator in a Pepsi ad, spent two weeks perfecting the martial art techniques in the spot

During the Superbowl earlier this month, rapper P Diddy starred in a Diet Pepsi ad alongside former supermodel Cindy Crawford and 'Desperate Housewives' actress Eva Longoria.

Beckham starred alongside Beyonce, Pink, Britney Spears and Enrique Inglesias for his first Pepsi ad last year.

The footballer recently claimed he would reduce his sponsorship commitments to spend more time playing for Real Madrid. He still represents Gillette, Police, Vodafone and Adidas.
