BDH\TBWA wins Patak's account after protracted pitch

LONDON - Patak's has finally appointed an advertising agency to handle its 拢1m creative account after a five-month review process, with BDH\TBWA winning out.

The Indian food company has awarded the business to Manchester-based BDH\TBWA following a pitch against Saatchi & Saatchi and VCCP.

The agency is currently working on Patak's first brand advertising campaign for two years. The work will promote the firm's range of sauces, ready-meals, pickles and breads.

"We were extremely impressed by the enthusiasm, creativity and vision for our business shown by all of the pitching agencies," Fiona Mannion, Patak's group director of marketing, said. She added that the decision-making process was "very difficult".

Patak's advertising was previously handled by Mitchell Patterson Grime Mitchell but since it was dissolved last year, the company has not had an agency working on the account.

In April, it was reported that Patak's had also shortlisted FCB London and that a decision was expected that month.

Patak's spent about 拢1m on advertising in 2004. It competes with Sharwood's, which spends about 拢2m on advertising.
