BBH wins battle for £10m Birds Eye advertising account

LONDON - Bartle Bogle Hegarty has triumphed in the final stage of the £10m Birds Eye frozen foods pitch.

The agency beat J Walter Thompson in a final shoot-out. Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and the incumbent, McCann-Erickson, were ruled out at an earlier stage of the pitch process.

Although Birds Eye's Unilever parent normally handles its account reviews internally, this pitch was coordinated by the Haystack Group.

The appointment sees BBH's grip on Unilever's business strengthen even further. Earlier this month, it picked up the pan-European Surf account. It already handles brands including Lynx, Impulse and Bertolli.
