The BBC picked up nominations in the awards, sponsored by Pioneer, for Denis Lawson who played Mr Jarndyce in 'Bleak House'. Channel 4's digital station More 4 was nominated for Bernard Hill's portrayal of David Blunkett in 'A Very Social Secretary'.
In the best actress category, Gillian Anderson was nominated for her role as Lady Deadlock and Anna Maxwell Martin for her portrayal of Esther Summerson, both in 'Bleak House', which aired on BBC One.
In the best entertainment performance category the BBC also dominated with nominations for 'Top Gear''s Jeremy Clarkson on BBC Two, Jack Dee 'Live at the Apollo' on BBC One, and Jonathan Ross's 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross'. In the same category, Noel Edmonds rehabilitation continues with the success of 'Deal or No Deal' on Channel 4.
In the best comedy performance, the BBC took all four nominations with nods for 'The Catherine Tate Show' on BBC Two, among others.
In best single drama there was a nomination for Channel 4's 'The Government Inspector', with another for the station's 'The Queen's Sister' while the BBC picked up the remaining nominations including one for its production of 'Much Ado About Nothing'.
In drama series, the BBC took three of the nominations including recognition for 'Doctor Who', 'Spooks' and hard-hitting medical drama 'Bodies', while Channel 4 won a nomination for 'Shameless'.
In drama, serial 'Bleak House' was again nominated along with three other BBC productions including 'Fingersmith'.
ITV won one of its few nominations in the continuing drama category for 'Coronation Street', where is up against three BBC shows including 'EastEnders'.
