BBC World targets business people with online ads

LONDON - BBC World is targeting European businessmen and women with an online campaign this spring.

The campaign for the BBC's commercially funded, 24-hour international news and information channel is targeting the business market in order to attract new audiences as well as build relationships with its existing viewers.

A variety of online advertising formats are running across financial European sites. Creative is designed for ad formats including Overlayz, skyscrapers, pop-ups and banners and a bespoke microsite.

The advertising illustrates the range of BBC World programming, which includes news, business and sport information as well as current affairs, documentary and lifestyle programmes.

The ads use "flowing" animation, which morphs into graphical icons representing the different programmes genres on the channel.

BBC World's customised weekly email newsletter service allows viewers to receive electronic alerts highlighting selections from the channels weekly programs.

WARL evolution, WARL Group's full-service interactive agency, developed the campaign for BBC World.
