BBC World appoints Joshua to handle global work

LONDON – BBC World, the commercially funded 24-hour news and information channel, has appointed Joshua to handle its global trade advertising, direct marketing and promotional business.

Joshua will work on a new creative campaign to appear in the trade press during spring, which aims to support BBC World's global positioning as the news channel that gives viewers a "broader view" of international current affairs.

Seema Kotecha, head of marketing at BBC World, said: "Joshua demonstrated a strong understanding of our brand and how we should communicate with our commercial audience of international clients, media agencies and affiliate partners."

Dick Bloomfield, business development director at Joshua, added: "This new challenge will draw on our expertise of delivering a coherent global approach."

BBC World, the BBC's commercially funded international 24-hour news and information channel, is owned and operated by BBC World Ltd, a member of the BBC's commercial group of companies.

Mediaedge:cia will provide media planning and buying for the campaign.
