Screening on Tuesday April 20th, 'Happy Birthday BBC Two' will look at the programmes and the people who have made the channel what it is today.
It will highlight the station's prodigious contribution to British comedy, including recent hits 'The Office' and 'Little Britain' alongside classic sitcoms such as 'Absolutely Fabulous', 'The Royle Family' and 'I'm Alan Partridge' from the 1990s; 'Butterflies' and 'The Goodies' from the 1970s and 'Yes Minister' and 'The Young Ones' from the 1980s.
Dramas including 'Boys From The Blackstuff', 'Our Friends In The North' and the cult classic 'This Life' will also be featured in the programme.
There will be behind-the-scenes stories from the controllers and contributors, and a look at some of BBC Two's less successful programmes, including 'The Borgias'.
The stars of current BBC sketch programme 'Dead Ringers' are to contribute with original sketches, along with letters written to the Radio Times from viewers who were moved to comment on BBC.
