Jessie J, Status Quo, Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall, Paloma Faith, Average White Band and Emeli Sande have been confirmed to play in the distinctly British lineup.

They will be joined by American country music stars The Band Perry and Norwegian band Katzenjammer, with more acts being announced in the coming weeks.

Dubded a 'Festival in a Day', last year’s BBC Radio 2 Live attracted 25,000 music fans to the park for performances from Gary Barlow, Lenny Kravitz and Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.

Jeff Smith, head of music for Radio 2 and 6 Music, said: "Music is at the heart of Radio 2's output, and with more incredible artists to be announced in the coming weeks, there will be something for everyone at this year's Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park. What better way to end the summer than with a truly British celebration of music."

Radio 2 listeners will be able to hear highlights from the concert across the station’s shows and online for seven days after the event.
