BBC offers new web site for kids

The BBC has launched a web site for the early morning children's TV

show Xchange.

Similar to the 1980s TV show Why Don't You?, Xchange will be broadcast

during Easter and summer holidays and will be aimed at seven to

12-year-olds.

The site (www.bbc.co.uk/xchange) was developed by interactive media

production firm Victoria Real.

The site encourages children to take part in outdoor activities.

It will contain three educational and entertainment channels, called

'islands'. The Xpress channel will focus on the arts, music and design,

Xplore will cover science, history and geography and Xtreme will host

features on sports and hobbies.
