According to reports, the BBC is planning to show the names of the league's sponsors before and after matches, as well as rolling their names across the screen during half time. Logos would also be shown onscreen, but presenters will not mention the names of the companies.
The BBC is bidding for the rights to show Champions League matches against ITV and BSkyB, while Channel 4 and Five have bid for rights to show highlights only.
However, the corporation was asked to clarify how it would deal with the issue of advertisers. The BBC's charter bans advertising and showing logos, and executives have been trying to work out ways that this can be made to work alongside the league's heavy commercial backing.
One way the BBC has tried to get around this is by offering to pay more than other broadcasters for the rights, in return for a reduction in the amount of advertising carried. The BBC is reported to have bid 拢290m for the next three years, while ITV is believed to have bid 拢270m.
Uefa, the body overseeing European football, is expected to announce its decision some time this week.
