The presenter faces a gagging order over revealing any details of the death of Stuart Lubbock, who drowned in Barrymore's pool in 2001.
The Sun reports that police and lawyers for Barrymore will monitor what he says, and that Channel 4 will be vigilant in watching Barrymore and the other contestants in 'Celebrity Big Brother', which starts on Friday.
Although Barrymore has spoken about the incident, he has skirted around certain issues such as the use of drugs at the party where the death happened.
An inquest in to Lubbock's death returned an open verdict, but his family have long blamed Barrymore. Lubbock's father has already criticised Channel 4 for being "ghoulish" in allowing Barrymore to take part in this year's series.
Barrymore is set to be joined in the house -- which this year will include an indoor pool -- by celebrities including Anna Nicole Smith, a former Playboy model, and former US basketball star Dennis Rodman.
Others reported to be involved include TV comic Johnny Vegas, Pogues frontman Shane McGowan, former Football Association secretary Faria Alam and Channel 4's self-appointed health guardian Gillian McKeith.
Although Channel 4 has not confirmed any celebrity, '18-stone of Idiot' comic Vegas is being seen as a potential winner of the show. Last year Happy Mondays dancer Bez won, while comedian Jack Dee and Take That member Mark Owen have won previous outings.
