Titled Radical Nature: Art and Architecture for a Changing Planet 1969-2009, the exhibition will be on view at the venue until 18 October and will bring together 40 years worth of work from major architects and artists who have created visionary pieces for our planet.

As part of the parade, produced by the Barbican and ethical events company BASH, the trees will engage with the public in the form of mobile forests and tree carnivals, as well as a variety of activities encouraging people to join in.

The procession will culminate with a grand finale event inside the Barbican this evening, featuring further performances and keynote environmental speakers.
