Bampton confirmed as MD of Viacom Brand Solutions

LONDON - Nick Bampton has been confirmed as the new managing director of Viacom Brand Solutions, after acting in the role for a month following the departure of Paul Curtis.

Bampton has been named managing director with immediate effect, reporting to Michiel Bakker, executive vice-president and managing director of MTV Networks UK, Ireland and Nordic.

He had been acting in the role since the end of October, after Curtis quit the company to take up the job of deputy managing director of Sky Media. Before his promotion, Bampton held the title of sales director.

Bakker said that, in the short time that Bampton had been acting as managing director, he had made his presence felt and brought fresh insights to the company.

"This, coupled with his drive, passion and determination, made him unquestionably the first-choice candidate for the role," Bakker said.

Viacom Brand Solutions was established in January 2001 and represents brands including MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon and Paramount Comedy. It works with agencies and clients to devise marketing campaigns based around these brands, selling airtime, sponsorship, events and new-media and licensing opportunities.
