He was convicted of the air rage attack last week, but was let off by a judge with just 80 hours of community service and a 拢500 fine after he attacked fellow Virgin airline passengers and told the crew he could get them "murdered for 拢3,000".
Jones has appeared in a number of TV ads for Bacardi Carta Blanca Rum since being signed in 2001. He was brought in by McCann-Erickson to help make the brand's fiery Latin image more attractive to British consumers.
The most recent "strong arm" featured the 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels' actor arm wrestling with a beautiful women in a bar. The woman, Claudia Aros, has already beaten a tough-looking man, but Jones believes he can beat her. The ads also stars DJ Normski, a real-life friend of Jones, who eggs him on.
The spot features a reference to one of Jones' most notorious incidents, where he discouraged rival footballer Paul Gascoigne from marking him too closely in eye-watering fashion by grabbing his groin.
The future of Jones in the "Welcome to the Latin Quarter" campaign had already been under review, but the drunken violent behaviour on the London to Tokyo flight has sealed his fate.
Earlier this year, McCanns was in discussions with Bacardi over the future advertising strategy. However, Jones was scheduled to appear in several more commercials until a replacement was found.
Among the names being linked to the job were Los Angeles-based actor Benicio Del Toro, who has starred in 'The Usual Suspects', 'Snatch' and 'Traffic'.
