Babelgum and Ministry of Sound link up for Ibiza

LONDON - Global internet TV network Babelgum has signed a deal with Ministry of Sound TV to broadcast its programming and dance music, including content from this summer's Ibiza season.

MoSTV's offering on Babelgum will include content from the latest dance sub-genres from around the world, interviews, original features, over 500 dance music videos, and festival coverage, including live streams from the Ministry of Sound nightclub.

The entire Ibiza season from June to October will be covered by a crew from MoSTV and distributed on Babelgum. Users will be able to view the opening and closing parties; guides to clubs, beaches, restaurants and shops; a chart show; weekly wrap ups; and a 45-minute documentary wrapping up the season.

Erik Lumer, chief executive of Babelgum, said: "Ministry of Sound TV is exactly the kind of content that Babelgum was designed to deliver. While the mainstream can always find a place on the traditional broadcast platforms, Babelgum provides niche content owners with a global platform to deliver in broadcast quality.

"It is an environment that places niche alongside mainstream and removes the constraints imposed by linear scheduling requirements and broadcaster policy."

Assia Grazioli-Venier, head of Ministry of Sound TV, said it was the company's aim to unconditionally cater to an international audience, giving them what they want, when and where they want it.

He said: "Babelgum's focus on providing content owners with direct access to their audiences fits that strategy perfectly."
