Avis Rent A Car has parted company with its UK head of marketing,

Clive Tilley, as it prepares to launch a promotional campaign across

Europe.

Tilley, who left without a job to go to, has been replaced by Sacha

Cooper, former marketing manager UK travel team, who will report to

marketing and sales director Dale Morley.

Cooper is behind the launch of Avis’s Red Hot Offers promotion, which

offers week-by-week price deals on international car hire, according to

availability.

The promotion, which kicks off in the travel trade press this week, will

form the basis of a pan-European push to increase share of the leisure

market.

Created by the Black Cat agency, Red Hot Offers allows Avis to offer

deals where it has spare capacity. It will be supported by a pounds 1m

marketing effort aimed at independent leisure travellers who leave car

hire until the last minute.
