Wall leaves her role as executive director of Metro, where she used to work with Auckland.
From 10 November, Wall be responsible for a similiar remit of talent, marketing, communications and insight at ESI Media.
Auckland said: "Karen has worked with me over a number of years and I’m delighted to make her my first appointment. She spent 12 years at Metro where she was responsible for marketing and insight, alongside driving the people strategy for the business that resulted in Metro being named one of Britain’s Top Employers and an Investor in People.
"Karen has also delivered a number of successful trade marketing campaigns for Metro which have helped build an enviable brand to agencies and clients. This is another step in developing ESI Media as the most creative and energised team in media."
