Turner will take up her post next Tuesday (8 December) and report to Karl Marsden, managing director of ShortList's parent company ShortList Media, who is taking on a larger role in the operations side of the business.
Marsden, whose managing director role spans ShortList and sister women's title Stylist, previously carried out the duties of commercial director for ShortList as part of his remit.
Turner has had stints at Associated Newspapers working across its free titles Metro and London Lite. Latterly, she was head of trading for London Lite, which closed in September. She has also worked as senior account manager for AOL.
At ShortList, she will oversee all ad revenue streams as well as any other commercial revenue-generating opportunities.
Separately, ShortList and Stylist have signed a commercial deal with the fashion and fragrance brand Hugo Boss. They are jointly launching an online interactive shop window at Hugo Boss' flagship store in Sloane Square, London.
