The new departments, created in-house, will feature more than 1,000 new products including "designer" haircare, skincare, bath and body products, extended fragrance ranges and electrical beauty products.
The makeover will be completed with state-of the-art shelving, graphics and lighting to display the new ranges and make shopping in this area of the store easier than before.
Asda has spent £12.6m this year on investments within the group and has recently launched Maris Aqua, the Asda Essential Care range of treatments that uses spring water and was developed by Christian Dior.
A new team of seven staff has also been appointed to concentrate on the revamped health and beauty sector from customer planning through to buying and marketing.
David Miles, Asda's health and beauty director, said: "This investment is a further illustration of our commitment to this area of the business. Customers over the coming months can look forward to even more great new health and beauty products and even more great low prices."
