Arqiva to include paid-for content in VoD venture

LONDON - Arqiva, the broadcast infrastructure giant that last week acquired the technology assets of Project Kangaroo for an estimated £8m, has said it will include paid-for as well as ad-funded content when it launches its VoD service.

The company, a shareholder of Freeview, is holding talks with content providers and building a new management team and sales force in a bid to launch a UK service in the next few months.

Strategic development director Rob Hamlin said it is in the process of completing platform development. He said the business may also look to appoint a media agency.
