APA hires Davie for key digital post

LONDON - The Association of Publishing Agencies has appointed former I-Level executive Amanda Davie as its first head of digital.

Davie has 10 years experience within the agency sector, working at WPP digital specialist Outrider and I-Level, where she was responsible for the launch of I-Level Search.

The appointment of Davie comes as the APA launches a raft of digital initiatives aimed at promoting customer publishers as owners of branded content across print, digital, mobile and video.

The APA said that digital content now accounts for 15% of the work produced by customer publishers

Julia Hutchinson, chief operating officer at the APA, said: "Customer magazines have established as the true produces of highly effective branded content and the progression to digital media is a natural and powerful one."

She added that the new role is specifically designed to promote the digital capabilities of its members.

The APA is the trade body for customer publishers and has 45 members, which represents 90% of the market.
