LONDON (Brand Republic) - AOL UK has unveiled its flat-rate internet access service, priced at a monthly fee of £14.99.
The company will roll out the service gradually, offering it at first only to AOL鈥檚 longest-standing members. Other members, who joined AOL before September 19, will receive the service over the following weeks.
AOL hopes that this gradual rollout will avoid the problems encountered by other ISPs, such as LineOne and Breathe, which had to ditch their free access services because of over-subscription.
The 24-hour service is based on Friaco, the long-awaited flat-rate internet access call origination tariff offered to ISPs by BT.
