AOL UK teams with high.tv to take extreme sports online

AOL UK has partnered with high.tv, an extreme sports TV channel on the web, in a content deal lasting at least a year.

The agreement will strengthen the broadband content available on the AOL Sport channel.

Andria Allan, PR and marketing director of high.tv, commented that the deal would bring branding awareness for the free TV channel.

It will give AOL members the chance to view more than 25 extreme sporting events.

The service will be available to AOL Broadband Gold and Platinum members, and feature live surfing, skating, snowboarding, biking and climbing content.

Iolo Jones, channel director at high.tv, said: "We are delighted that high.tv is to be carried by AOL for the first time. It seems fitting that we're working together to bring better broadband services to viewers."

Allan explained: "This is a way to provide extreme sports content that may not be available on mainstream TV for fans to watch whenever they want."

Chris Condron, AOL UK head of broadband content, added: "Broadband provides the ideal environment for our members to follow their favourite activity online, whether it's football, cricket or something a little more adventurous."

High.tv is part of online video content developer Narrowstep.
