AOL in deal with Walt Disney to promote new Narnia film online

NEW YORK - The widely anticipated film adaptation of CS Lewis' 'Chronicles of Narnia' is to be promoted in an exclusive online deal between Walt Disney Studios and AOL.

The partnership will see AOL websites, including , offer movie fans a first look at photos, artwork and behind-the-scenes footage of 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'.

The site is also hosting the debut of the theatrical trailer ahead of the film's launch on December 9.

In addition to Moviefone.com, features about the film will be promoted across the AOL network, including the AOL Welcome Screen, AOL.com, AOL Music, AOL Television, AOL CityGuide, RED for Teens and many more.

Additionally, AOL will distribute 'The Chronicles of Narnia'-themed America Online CD-roms via direct mail. The discs, co-branded with Narnia art, will contain free content that consumers can access including games, videos, desktop wallpaper and buddy icons.

Erik Flannigan, vice-president of AOL Programming, said: "We're thrilled to partner with Disney on 'The World of Narnia' in our continuing effort to create immersive, original programming for the largest audience of movie fans online."

The film stars include Tilda Swinton as Jadis the White Witch, Rupert Everett as the voice of the fox, and the voices of Ray Winstone as Mr Beaver, Dawn French as Mrs Beaver and Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan.
