AOL considers floating European arm

AOL is considering a flotation of its European operation when market conditions improve in the online sector.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - AOL is considering a flotation of its European operation when market conditions improve in the online sector.

AOL international president Michael Lynton said that AOL鈥檚 client base in Germany has reached more than 2m, despite strong competition from Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Online, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

Lynton was unable to say when AOL Europe will move into profit but he denied speculation that parent AOL Time Warner is to lay off large amounts of staff in Europe.
