Animal groups hire Target for donor and brand work

LONDON - Animal Defenders International and the National Anti-Vivisection Society have appointed Target Marketing to build their donor base and raise their brand profiles.

NAVS, which advocates the total prohibition of all animal experiments, works in close partnership with Animal Defenders International, the charity that campaigns to stop all forms of cruelty to animals.

Target will start working on a fundraising direct mail campaign for the Toto Emergency Appeal. Toto is a circus chimp that had been imprisoned for more than 20 years. NAVS' campaigning and rescue operation led to his freedom and he is now living in Africa.

Appeal packs have been mailed to the existing base and will be used as an acquisition pack to cold lists. Target has been charged with building up teh donor base from 30,000 to 200,000 in the UK and overseas, as well as raising the brand profile of NAVS and Animal Defenders International.

Chris Rose, managing director at Target, said: "We look forward to a long and successful partnership of raising funds and awareness to help defenceless animals."
