Anheuser-Busch names UK chief

Anheuser-Busch is stepping up its UK focus with the appointment of its first UK managing director, David Dryden.

Dryden, who moves from the role of director of licensed markets to become UK vice-president and managing director, will have overall responsibility for the Budweiser brand and the introduction of new products. These include BE, the energy drink-based beer currently being launched in the UK.

Senior marketers, including Anheuser-Busch UK marketing director Jim Gorczyca, will report to Dryden.

Andrew Day, who has overseen the UK business as vice-president and managing director, Europe, is to take on the new role of vice-president of international operations, with responsibility for key emerging markets, including Asia Pacific and Canada.
