The ex-Burger King, Boots and Procter & Gamble marketer joined just under a year ago, replacing former director of communications and brand marketing, Matthew Anderson.

Brent's duties will be taken on by BSkyB director of brand marketing, Robert Tansey, until a permanent replacement can be found.

In April, Christian Cull, director of customer communications at the broadcaster, recently joined travel operator TUI in the newly-created role of communications director.
