Andrews takes top creative post at Agency Republic

LONDON - Agency Republic has appointed FCB Sydney's deputy creative director Jason Andrews as its new creative director.

Agency Republic has been on the hunt for a creative director for eight months, following the departure of Rob Scott last November.

Andrews, who has worked on campaigns for Nike, Harley Davidson and Sara Lee while in Australia, has spent the past four years with FCB Sydney.

"Agency Republic has a unique ability to embrace all media channels without prejudice. This is much more akin to the progressive, Australian way of thinking than the often narrow-minded UK approach," Andrews said.

Before moving to Australia, Andrews spent two years as a senior writer with Banks Hoggins O'Shea. Prior to that he was the head of copy for Barraclough Hall Woolston Gray, now Proximity London.

"Jason is a crucial hiring for Republic. It's no secret that we've searched far and wide for the right person and found it hard to get people who think in terms of ideas rather than executions; people tend to look at specific channels instead of holistically," Martin Brooks, the managing director of Agency Republic, said
