Andrew McGuinness named chairman of Advertising Association

LONDON - The Advertising Association has appointed Andrew McGuinness as its new chairman, succeeding COI chief executive Mark Lund.

McGuinness is a partner at Beattie McGuinness Bungay (BMB). He started his career at JWT and in 1998 moved to Sydney to join M&C Saatchi as a group account director.

In February 2000 he came back to the UK to join TBWA\London, where in June 2001 he was promoted to managing director. In October 2002, aged 32, McGuinness was promoted to chief executive leaving in May 2005 to become one of the founding partners of BMB.
                                                                                 
Tim Lefroy, chief executive of the Advertising Association, said: ‘We must put intellectual authority at the heart of the case for advertising. Andrew shares this vision and will be a powerful advocate.'
