Anchor launches £3.5m UK holiday prize draw campaign

LONDON - Arla butter brand Anchor is launching a £3.5m on-pack campaign offering the chance to win a £3000 holiday in the UK.

One holiday will be available to win each week through June to the end August. Consumers will be able to win by going online and entering an on-pack code. The campaign launches on May 4.

To offer the prize, which includes holiday rental and spending money, Anchor has teamed up with holiday company Alastair Sawday Special Escapes.

Anchor will be running the "Great Escape" promotion across 22m packs and all of its variants. Marketing supports includes a TV advertising campaign.

Anchor brand manager Kate Richards said: "The promotion is a perfect fit with Anchor's free range positioning and our advertising and also the current trend for 'staycationing'.

"With the current economic climate and strength of the euro more people are taking their holidays in the UK."

Wilde said the prizes on offer failed to match the medium while the online element lacked depth.
