His brief is to "increase the size of the existing business and to develop brand awareness".
Lowther joins from his own consultancy, having previously been managing director of Vinopolis.
He started his career at Granada Leisure and has also worked as director of Trentham Estate, launching a £100m regeneration project aimed at creating a unique visitor destination of national significance.
"Not only are we looking to make it the premiere corporate and private events space in London, but to expand the concept throughout Europe," said Lowther, who will report in to Altitude London global brand owner Justin Etzin.
