Al Jazeera Sport wins one millionth customer

LONDON - Al Jazeera Sport Channel now has over one million subscribers, the Qatari broadcaster announced earlier today.

 It attributed the success of the sports channel, which launched in 2003, to the high quality of its content – in particular its football coverage, which features league action from the Middle East, Europe and South America. The one million figure was billed as an unprecedented achieveme
A competition in which three subscribers won Ford cars also helped to drive Al Jazeera beyond the one million mark.
Ayman Jada, the managing director of the channel, said: “I and the entire Al Jazeera Sport Channel staff are delighted by this achievement which we have accomplished in only a few years since the Channel’s launch in 2003. This is a testament to the Channel’s superb content which our subscribers recognize and value.”
