Agencies line up for Olympics legacy task

GLL, the non-profit social enterprise that operates more than 100 public leisure centres across London and the South-East of England, is looking for an agency to help oversee a new initiative that aims to encourage those inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games to take up exercise.

Four agencies have been shortlisted to pitch for the business, with an appointment due to be made by the end of the month.

Iain Morrison, the head of marketing and communications for GLL, will handle the process. Morrison joined the organisation in June, having previously been the head of global campaign marketing at VisitBritain.

The appointed agency will handle all consumer and business-to-business marketing activity for GLL, with particular focus on a large-scale campaign building on the legacy of the Olympics.

The activity will work in tandem with the Government’s Change4Life initiative, providing people who want to get fit and healthy after the Games with the facilities to exercise.

GLL is one of the three organisations shortlisted to operate both the Aquatics Centre and Multi-Use Arena after the London Olympics have taken place.
