
A number of agencies are understood to be in the process of pitching for the business and
the successful agency will be responsible for leading Aston Martin’s advertising and marketing activity, which is expected to include TV, press, digital, eCRM and direct marketing work.
Aston Martin currently uses an in-house marketing team to handle the majority of its advertising campaigns, however it has previously worked with some agencies on a project basis, including HMDG.
In May last year Aston Martin kicked off a search for an agency to handle the advertising for the launch of its Cygnet city car. A number of agencies were contacted, however the process was put on hold after the release date of the Cygnet was delayed.
The car, which is Aston Martin’s first attempt at launching a small city-car, is now due to be launched in Europe later this year.
Aston Martin is also preparing to launch the Vantage S, a new and improved version of its Vantage model, before the end of 2011.
Last year Aston Martin regained its place as the world’s "coolest brand" in the annual CoolBrands survey. The car manufacturer has topped the list in four of the past five years, only losing out to the Apple iPhone in 2009.
