AG Barr plans support for key drinks brands

AG Barr, the Scottish soft-drinks firm, has outlined further plans for its expansion into functional drinks.

The company acquired its first functional drink brand, Vitsmart, from Chartered Brands in January, and is redesigning the packaging ahead of its launch. The revamped packs will be supported by a campaign created by The Leith Agency, with activity due to launch this summer.

It also plans to overhaul sports drink Taut, following its acquisition of Taut International earlier this year.

TBWA\Manchester has been appointed to handle the Taut ad account, with a brief to develop a campaign to support a push in the convenience sector this summer.

In addition, Tizer, which was relaunched last year after being reformulated to include orange, lemon and blackcurrant juice and no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners, will be backed by a drive targeting teenagers and parents.

Last week, AG Barr launched an Irn-Bru campaign based on Rudyard Kipling's poem If.
