Representatives from Clarion Events, Informa, UBM, i2i Events Group and ITE Group joined the AEO’s chief executive Karim Halwagi on Thursday 5 June to discuss the future of the exhibitions, congress and events industry in the UK.

The group focused on how the UK government can assist and enhance the growth and development of the UK's exhibitions and events sector.

Halwagi said: "I am delighted that our industry has been recognised by No.10 and very encouraged with the discussion during last week’s meeting at Downing Street.

"I am sure that this will be the first of many discussions on how the events industry can work more closely with the government in an effort to assist in the further economic growth and development of UK plc."
