Aegis to run Bollore vote by poll

Aegis has asked shareholders to vote by way of a poll whether to give French businessman Vincent Bollore two seats on the board by way of a poll at its rescheduled annual general meeting next week.

The poll method means that each share equates with one vote, and is seen as being a fairer method than a show of hands, in which each shareholder has one vote irrespective of how many shares they own.

Aegis chairman Lord Sharman has once again urged shareholders to vote against Bollore, who wants to install Roger Hatchuel and Philippe Germond on the board.

鈥淲e also remind shareholders of the board鈥檚 view that voting against the Groupe Bollore proposals - resolutions 14 and 15 - which present a severe conflict of interest, is important,鈥 he said.

鈥淲e are asking those shareholders who have not yet voted to use what little time remains to make their vote count.鈥

The vote is likely to be close, with Bollore owning almost 30% of Aegis shares.
