Adconion's Matt Hunt to step down from UK MD role

Matt Hunt, Adconion Media Group's UK managing director, is stepping down from his role and will take up a senior global management role at the online advertising network in 2012.

He has been in the UK managing director's role since March 2010.

Hunt, who will leave his current post by the end of this year, declined to give specific details about his new role.

He joined the online advertising company's Australian arm in November 2007, working as head of video and then managing director of its digital branded entertainment arm RedLever.

Adconion is currently looking for a replacement for Hunt.

The news of Hunt's departure comes in the same month that , for an undisclosed sum.

Hunt told Media Week: "Our business has expanded considerably as a result of us diversifying into email, social, display and video, and with the recent acquisition of Smartclip.

"We are now clear leaders in video in Europe and the business is in an extremely strong position. The timing is therefore appropriate for us to consider a transition of leadership."

In May, Adconion, which has offices in eight other countries, including the US and Australia, raised $34m (£20m).

It recently appointed its online video platform, which was acquired by Adconion in 2009 after it went into liquidation.
