ChinaLOOP was founded in 2000 by Gabrielle Chou and Frederic Jouve, who are among the principal owners and have remained on the leadership team. The company's clients include Diageo, the Financial Times, Nokia, Total, Citroen and Johnson & Johnson.
Acxiom company leader Charles Morgan said: "With the world's fastest-growing economy, China offers very strong growth opportunities for both domestic and multinational companies, and those companies will increasingly seek to gain market share through marketing intelligence and technology-based solutions. No one has recognised that more than ChinaLOOP, which was among the first information management services companies to operate in China."
Acxiom has had operations in Australia and New Zealand since 1999 and in Japan since 2001.
Kevin Zaffaroni, Acxiom's leader for European and Asian operations, said: "The demand for information management services is becoming substantial in China, and now Acxiom is well positioned to support the need for sophisticated industry-specific solutions."
Acxiom's rival Experian recently gained a presence in Singapore through the £106m acquisition of QAS at the beginning of October. QAS is the developer of the QuickAddress range of international address management software and also has offices in Australia, the UK, the US, France and the Netherlands.
