Acts announced for third heat of The Next Big Thing

The third heat of industry X Factor-style competition The Next Big Thing will take place at Alphabet City in the O2 Arena on Thursday night (16 February) with six acts competing for a place in the semi-finals at International Confex from 6-8 March at Excel London.

With four acts already through to the first semi-final of The Next Big Thing, two more acts from this heat will be hoping for success. They will join fire breathing, dancing and eating contestant Firechild, and harpist singer Iona Thomas who trimphed at the last heats on 31 January at Café de Paris.

Previous Next Big Thing finalists have included last year's X Factor contestant Kitty Brucknall and Britain's Got Talent finalist Kevin Orkian. 

All the finalists get to compete for a contract with entertainment agency Sternberg Clarke and £1,000 from UBM.

Supported by Event magazine, judges at this heat will include Lynden Buglar, event manager at British Airways, Adam Sternberg, managing director of Sternberg Clarke and Liz Lockard, senior event manager at Haymarket Events.

This heat will be compered by Jeremy King, editor of Event and Media Week.

The acts looking to compete for a place in the semi finals are:

Poppy Jones – Band

Adam Duffill – Singer

Kima – Singer

The Bee Shees – Girl group

Il Tenore – Opera singer

Jonathan Graham – Singer
