Held at The Union Chapel in Islington on 25 November, the gig will be the latest in a string of unique money-can’t-buy experiences the station has staged.

Past events include a rock gig in The Houses of Parliament with Biffy Clyro, Madness on Regent Street, Newton Faulkner in a hot air balloon and Texas in Tower Bridge.

The singer will perform classics from his back catalogue as well as tracks from his new album The Union, making the ethereal surroundings of The Union Chapel the ideal setting.

The event will be hosted by Absolute Radio Breakfast Show DJ Christian O’Connell, and tickets will be won on air and through Absolute Radio’s website.

Highlights from the gig will be broadcast throughout the week of 6 December on Geoff Lloyd’s daily Hometime show. It will then be broadcast in full on Boxing Day at 6pm.

An exclusive interview with Elton will also be available on the Absolute Radio website.
