However, Incisive Media's home-computing publication Computeractive tops the chart, despite suffering a year-on-year circulation decline of 11.5%.
Its circulation of 177,330 outstrips that of its nearest rival by more than 100,000 - Dennis Publishing's PC Pro, which fell 9.3% year on year, to 75,438.
Future makes its first appearance in the table in third position, with Official Xbox 360 magazine, which fell 4.8% period on period and 4.5% year on year is consistent with the performance of most of the other gaming titles.
James Binns, publishing director of games at Future, says: "A lot of the numbers need to be taken in the context of a great deal of increase in the previous ABCs."
"Future's gaming titles increased their circulations 23% between January and June 2008 and it's hard to maintain that level of increase."
Binns adds that the circulation of gaming titles is intrinsically linked to which video games are released into the market and the hype surrounding them.
According to Binns, the six-month period to the end of December 2008 was a quiet time for big-hitting gaming titles that appeal to the hardcore gamer. "There were some strong games, but they didn't generate the buzz that was needed," he says.
Official Nintendo Magazine fell 3.9% period on period, but was still up 0.1% year on year. Binns attributes the drop to the fact that Nintendo games are increasingly targeted at a broader audience, one that does not typically read gaming titles. Future responded to this shift by launching a NintendoMagazine.co.uk website.
Elsewhere, Incisive's Personal Computer World fell 10% year on year and Dennis Publishing's Computer Shopper dropped 22.1% year on year.
For Future, PlayStation Official was a highlight - its circulation rose 4.1% period on period and 16.6% year on year, fuelled by increasing PlayStation3 console sales.
And while its cross-plaform Games Master title fell 10.4% period on period and 20.3% year on year, it is still the biggest-circulation unofficial gaming title in the market. Binns is confident that sales of Games Master will rise as crossover of console ownership increases.
However, Future's greatest success in this month's ABCs was the 6.5% period-on period hike for Xbox World 360, an unofficial title dedicated to Microsoft's Xbox. The magazine knocked Imagine's X360 title, which beat Xbox World in the previous ABCs, out of the top 10, with a circulation figure about 5,000 copies higher in the July to December period.
