ABC extends half-yearly online audits to all media owners

LONDON - Magazine publishers will soon be able to publish official half-yearly website figures alongside their print circulation figures, following a change in operations by industry auditor ABC.

Following the successful introduction of the new reporting standard for regional media owners last month, the scheme is being extended to all media owners who will now be able to receive six-month website figures.

The new certificates include a minimum of monthly and daily unique user figures, with other information available should the publisher require it. They will also contain charts which ABC claim will provide users with a clear visual understanding of the certified online activity.

Media owners will still be able to conduct the previously available monthly audits, as well as the new six-monthly certificates.

Jan Pitt, director of magazines at ABC, said the new reporting standards for six-month reporting ensure ABC and ABCe continue to meet the changing needs of publishers and allow publishers to demonstrate their cross platform performance.
