365 Corporation is expanding its lifestyle offering with two sites,
Gay365 (www.gay365. com) and Future365 (www. future365.com). Both will
launch this month.
365’s lifestyle arm currently comprises Gardening365
(www.gardening365.co.uk) and dating site Personals365
(www.personals365.co.uk). Gay365, which launches on 16 June, is a ”fresh
online meeting place for gay men”, according to editor Daniel Pashley. It
will gain revenue from e-commerce as well as advertising, in a partnership
with the Millivres Prowler Group, owner of Gay Times and the Prowler Soho
store.
”Prowler Soho sells lifestyle goods as well as erotica and we will offer
their best sellers through Gay365,” said Pashley.
Gay365 will feature a soap opera acted out by dolls called Doll Babylon,
as well as a listings page, The Other Menu, with clubs and bars which are
trendy but not necessarily exclusively gay. Users are invited to post
profiles of themselves and interact with others. ”It is not like gay.com,
where men go when they are horny - it will be more about sharing
interests.
Our strength will lie in our editorial, which will be intelligent and
humorous,” said Pashley.
Gay365 will run the first cyber cafe at this year’s Mardi Gras event in
London’s Finsbury Park.
Future365, which launches later this month, will target those with an
interest in horoscopes and tarot cards and will offer e-readings. Users
will be able to buy personalised readings as well as accessing more
general predictions for free.
