2012 Olympics CEO to speak at sports event management conference

CEO of the London 2012 Olympic Games, Paul Deighton, will join a host of other senior sports event representatives in sharing his experiences at the International Sports Event Management (ISEM) Conference at Twickenham Stadium from 3-4 November.

is expected to attract more than 200 sports event management professionals from Local Organising Committees, sports federations and suppliers, responsible for planning and delivering the world’s biggest, most prestigious sports events.

Other speakers already confirmed include:

John Scott, CEO, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

Igor Stolyarov, VP marketing, Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games

Xavier Gonzalez, CEO, International Paralympic Committee

Andrea Shaw, former VP, sponsorship sales and marketing, Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games

Paul Vaughan, business operations director, Rugby Football Union

Mark Evans, CEO, Harlequins

David Voth, senior director, Sports Marketing Group, Singapore Sports Council

Dominic Reilly, head of marketing, Williams F1

Becky Morgan, chief operating officer, All the Worlds, F1 Rocks

The 2010 ISEM Awards will take place on the evening of 3 November and will celebrate excellence in the sports event management industry in ten categories, including ‘Brand Presentation Award’, Event Look Award’ and ‘Sports City Award’.

The judging panel will consist of senior-level experts, including International Olympic Committee member Sir Craig Reedie and FIFA head of competitions Jim Brown.
