Zulu chief executive Martin Brooks to launch digital agency

Martin Brooks, the chief executive of the Omnicom-owned digital and direct network Zulu, is leaving to start up his own digital agency.

Brooks is expected to leave over the next couple of months, and is understood to be planning to set up a specialist digital business. His replacement has not yet been named. It is unclear whether the venture will include Andy Sandoz and Patrick Griffiths, the Agency Republic creative director and planning director, who left in March with the intention of launching a start-up this summer.

Previously the chief executive of Agency Republic, Brooks was made the Zulu chief executive when the group was formed in October 2005. At the time, he took charge of Republic and its sister direct marketing agency Claydon Heeley, as well as the sales promotion agency Alcone and Code, a technology business.

Brooks declined to comment.
